Big fan of Chronic Town…big fan…
So we made a final-hour trip to Home Depot and picked up some SALE! (wilting and desperately in need of a home due to this Book of Revelations-style heatwave we are dealing with down here) perennial flowers and a hibiscus shrub. Also got some dirt and wood for STAGE 3 of my watermelon-growing campaign. My friend Dale claims that one can place a box over the young fruit and yield a square watermelon. I’m calling horseshit on that one. The watermelon is the only thing we are currently growing in our MASSIVE backyard…all of the other plants (including existing specimens in new states of growth) are part of our front yard landscaping project. Or…landscaping the previously-unlandscaped area in front of our house.
